Capping off a Momentous Year

Virginia. West Virginia. Rhode Island. New Jersey. Illinois. On behalf of MetaMetrics. For English learners in California. And more.

In 2019, the last “real” year, we created video reports on behalf of three states. In 2022, we’ll do so for at least eleven states.

Eleven! That represents over 3 million students’ families, all understanding their students’ assessment results better than ever before.

Rapid growth is exciting, but it can overwhelm a business. So Spotlight has put remote employment to work: in early 2020, all but two Spotlight team members were based in our Davis, CA office. Today, our map has pins in New Haven, Austin, Chicago, Phoenix, San Jose, Iowa City, Tulsa, and Miami. Maybe more; we’ve lost count.

No matter, though: while separated by miles, we’re united by a common mission. Together we’re bringing educational insights to families across the country, regardless of their background or home language.

The next phase, then? It’s obvious: we’ll deliver those insights abroad, to students and families outside of the U.S. Turns out that the need to understand the data behind life-altering decisions isn’t just an American one.
